Repton 3 Competition and Tips

Special Introductory Prices for a Few More Days!

Repton 3 Screen PictureRepton 3 has been given a great welcome from the Repton fans - we have received a host of complimentary messages since its release just over a week ago!

Thank you very much for all your feedback. We have placed several of your comments on the Repton 3 webpage, including this glowing recommendation from David Jeffery:

"Congratulations! This is a truly magnificent version of Repton 3 ... the PC version surpassed my already high expectations by such a large margin that I'm as stunned as a spirit in rockfall - it's terrific value for money, beautifully designed and programmed, and compulsive and addictive to play. Thanks and praise to all the programmers, character designers and level designers. In a rapidly changing world, it's nice to know that Superior stays as reliable as ever."

If I were to choose just one game to take with me on a desert island (assuming there was a working PC of course), I would select the PC version of Repton 3. I like the level-based structure of this strategic game, which was summed up very nicely by a customer called Lee using these words: "Repton 3 is a great blend of action and strategy - 160 levels represents fantastic value for money! I feel that one of the strengths of Repton 3 is that it is level-based ... the map size is perfect - not too small to disappoint in challenge; and not too large to overwhelm with complexity."

Repton 3 Screen PictureWe are going to hold a small competition based on Repton 3, and we are considering a similar competition for Ricochet.

We will award a Superior game (of the player's choice) to the player who has achieved the best performance in the online Repton 3 Hall of Fame at 31 December 2006. The best performance will be determined as the most scenarios completed in the online Hall of Fame; if two or more players finish equal, the highest total score will be the deciding criterion.

The introductory discount offers on Repton 3 and Ricochet will continue for a few more days until the CD version of Repton 3 is released. So please mention these games to any of your family or friends who you think may be interested, and they can take advantage of the special discount prices.

Here are two tips regarding Repton 3; firstly, shortcut keys:
Sometimes it can be quicker and more convenient to press a key than to use the mouse, and keys can be used to make selections on many of the Repton 3 screens. On the Repton 3 Main Menu Screen, the levels can be selected by pressing the 1 to 8 keys. When a level's status box is highlighted, the 1 to 8 keys will start the game on that level - alternatively the P key can be pressed to start the game. The options Select Scenario, Password, Progress, Options, Help and Exit are selectable by pressing the S, A, R, O, H and E keys respectively.

The second tip will be well known to experienced Repton fans, but new Repton players may find it particularly helpful. There is time to spare for completing each of the Repton 3 levels, but if you find that time is ebbing away fast we recommend planning your routes by viewing the map before attempting each section of a level. As well as helping the player quickly to become familiar with the layout of a new level, time is frozen while viewing the map screen. More tips coming soon.

Thank you for a tremendous finale to 2005, and we hope you all enjoy a happy and successful 2006!
