Repton 2 Nearing Publication

15 Preview Screenshots of Repton 2 on Our Website

Repton 1 Screen PictureRepton 2 is certainly our most keenly anticipated PC release so far, and we can now show you some screenshots as the work nears its completion.

There are two small screenshots in this newsletter and a total of 15 large preview screenshots of Repton 2 available to view on the Superior Interactive website by clicking the link above.

Our most recent game, Pipeline Plus, is proving popular with the adventure fans. It's an intriguing quest, and the Pipeline Plus Hall of Fame now shows an entry from the first player to finish the game's Callisto adventure. Well done, Andrew, who kindly commented: "Please pass on my congratulations to everyone involved in writing the game for producing such an addictive, interesting and well designed game!"

A few weeks ago, I mentioned the Superior Interactive Affiliate Program. This has started brightly, with several affiliates generating sales commissions, and new affiliates are coming on board - the latest one being an organisation based in the USA who joined earlier today. We have also recently established programs with BMT Micro and RegNow as alternative choices; BMT Micro has impressed us the most - a helpful, forward-thinking company. Please visit our affiliates webpage if you would like details of our three affiliate options.

We are branching out with a new website called 1forSoftware, which is up and running now, and will gather pace over the rest of this year. The purpose of 1forSoftware is to show top software from other software developers, while at the same time helping to spread the awareness of Superior Interactive's games. I imagine many of you are familiar with our Play It Again Sam compilation series, which often included top games from other publishing companies (titles such as Killer Gorilla, Fortress, and Firetrack) alongside our own games. Similarly 1forSoftware will include software from other publishers as well as our releases - this mixed software concept has been brought up-to-date by internet downloadable software. For more information about 1forSoftware as it expands and develops over the coming months, please join the 1forSoftware newsletter; we have a simple one-line entry form on the front page of the 1forSoftware website.

We also plan to feature some more guest software on the Superior Interactive website, following the success of Zen Puzzle Garden and Neko Puzzle earlier this year. We are looking for top quality software titles, and we are particularly keen to find impressive software that it not very well known. For example, many players had not heard of Zen Puzzle Garden or Neko Puzzle before we highlighted those games in Issue 9 of this newsletter. When we select software, first and foremost the quality has to be high; this has always been our chief selection criterion (for example, in the Play It Again Sam series), and we believe it is very important to keep up good standards. The software range will include utility software and educational software as well as games.

The main emphasis in the near future will be on our PC Repton games, and we will email a newsletter to you as soon as the Repton 2 software is ready for publication. The software development work is largely complete, and we are now finalising the game's scenarios; there will be three sets of levels included:
Beginner - a few easyish warm-up levels,
Message - a familiar message for Repton 2 fans,
Caverns - new levels designed by James Watson.

We conclude this issue of the newsletter with tips for one of the Repton 1 levels, Cascade Level 12, which is named Grizzly, and was also designed by James Watson. Please follow the link below if you would like to see our suggestions for this level - although we realise that some of you prefer to work through the games without any assistance at all. Two players emailed us recently asking for help with this level - the main challenge is the large central section containing four roaming monsters - and we have compiled a suggested completion method for Grizzly.

Best wishes,

Richard Hanson, Superior Interactive
